Character Analysis:

The main character in this story is Sarah Corbin. "With a sigh of relief, Sarah stood." The second, "There was no controlling Miles Corbin."(P.1 and on page two when it says Miles Corbin.) Sarah is a nice girl with brown eyes, brown hair, and white skin. She lives with her father, mother, brother, and her sister on a Massachusetts farm. She is the oldest child in her family. Sarah's mom, Delina Corbin, is married to Miles Corbin, Sarah's dad, and they both have three kids, Sarah, Robbie, and Rachel. The rest of the family of the family had the same descriptions as Sarah besides Delina. Delina has blond hair, she is mean, and has white skin. Then there is her Grandfather, (Mom's side) who love and cares for the children.

Setting Analysis:

"The setting is a Massachusetts farm." (P.On the paper of the front of the book). On the farm there are animals and crops. There is man named Hiram that gets paid to make the crops. In Sarah's room there is just a bed with a small dresser next to it. Miles is gone in California looking for gold. This book does NOT have alot of description. Sorry. :(

Problem Analysis:

There are two problems in this story, which makes this story really interesting. There is not really a main problem in this story but I will tell you the problem that came first in the story. The first problem in this story is that on the trip that Miles goes on to get the gold is that he gets killed. Someone wrote a note, talking to the family, that MIles got killed. The family and the person that writes the letter thinks that Miles got threw overboard so that the person that thrown Miles overboard can take his gold. This made Delina work at a whip factory so that the family gets the money they need.

The second problem in the story is that the farm gets burned down. Robbie is in the farm when its on fire and Sarah went inside to save him. She puts him on their horse, Dorkas, and he rides away with Robbie on him. Sarah tries to get out but she got too tired and passed out right in front of the farm and gets burned horribly. She got help and had to be in her bed all the time.

Recommendation:

This book is a Great book if you are into a lot if sadness and drama. I liked the book because it was a little confusing in the beginning, but when you start to read more into the book it makes alot of sense. I recommend this book for the fourth grade and higher. The genre of this book is fiction.
The book cover should look like this=In Plain Sight
To find the ending...READ THE BOOK.
